Introduction

Alpha Theme has been developed to provide regions and countries with a starter theme and baseline content to create their own marketing sites.

The regions will handle any regional updates that require code changes either by their staff or by hiring local WordPress developers to customize the theme to suit their needs.

The theme maintains Alpha branding by applying colours, fonts and including 'blocks' that can be used to match the look and feel of Alpha.org website.

We will distribute the theme initially by making a duplicate of the alpha.org website that has been built on the new theme and providing an installation package to the regions. Installing the package on the new WordPress site will allow regions to have a set of pre-built pages that they can then modify or delete thereby speeding up their deployment timeline. 

IMPORTANT: Any subsequent code changes will need to be made to the child theme that is included in the package. Read more about child themes.

• Telling Others

The following guides will explain how to install the theme package, use the custom-built 'blocks' and point to other resources on how to configure and maintain a WordPress site.
