Importing Data into myAlpha

This step is likely not needed for you NAO, as you should have clean data in Salesforce now.

However there is a possibility that some data exists in Salesforce and not in myAlpha. This likely happened if you imported courses in to Salesforce from users who did not register on myAlpha, or for historic data from a system prior to myAlpha.

The two main advantages to this is that:

  • User who have since joined myAlpha will be able to see their old courses.
  • Alpha International takes the anonymised course and user numbers from myAlpha to have an up to date live view of how each NAO is doing. This data is tracked in a Data Dashboard, that will eventually be available to the NAO's. Therefore if you wanted to improve how you NAO compares to those around you - you can, by making sure every Course and User is your myAlpha.

How to do this?

First resolve the missing data issues in Tools -> Salesforce Sync -> Importer -> Resolve Errors

  • Click 'Reload All Data' at the top, to make sure you're working on the most up to date data.
  • You will see a screen with some orange "!" icons. This means this data is missing, normally it's a product or a Location, which are Fields myAlpha requires to create a course.
  • Click the "!" to see what the issue is, and follow the suggestions it gives you which is normally to create/input some data into the record on Salesforce.
  • In Salesforce you make the appropriate update.
  • Return to myAlpha and press 'Reload All Data' again.
  • Now the errors should have all been fixed.

Now that you have fixed the issues you can Import all missing Courses by going to the second tab "Import Alphas".

  • Click 'Import Alpha' on the right - or scroll to the bottom and click Import all Alphas, to do it quicker.
  • Congratulations, now both your myAlpha and Salesforce data is the same!
