Associating global resources with local resource category and hide global category in local/regional site

We have two features to enhance resource management, offer greater flexibility in managing and displaying resources tailored to your local context:

  1. Associate global resources with local resource categories
  2. Hide global resource categories on local or regional sites

Associating Global Resources with Local Resource Categories

  1. Log in to WordPress using an administrator account
  2. Navigate to Resources → Network Resources
  3. Use the available filters to locate the global resources you wish to associate with a local resource category (creation date of the resource, resource type, category, etc.)
  4. Once you find the desired global resource, hover over it to reveal the “Assign Local Resource Categories” option
  5. Click “Assign Local Resource Categories”


  6. Use the “Materials” or “Promotional Materials” filters to locate and select the appropriate local resource category
    • Category with * is local to the site only, whilst the ones without * are global resource categories


  7. Save the changes
    • Changes saved on the modal only affects local site
  8. The associated global resources will now appear under the local resource category within the “Series Materials” tab when managing an Alpha course



Hiding Global Resource Categories

This feature allows NAOs to customise which local or global category the global resources display under:

  1. Log in to WordPress as an administrator and navigate to Resources → Resource Categories
  2. Global resource categories will have checkboxes next to them
  3. Check the boxes to hide the categories on your local or regional site
