Getting Started: Organisations and Denominations
Organisations holds the complete list of churches that have been registered on your myAlpha. If you click on the organisation tab (on the left hand side of the screen) you will see the details of the organisation.
Users cannot edit Organisation. You need to make any changes for them (if requested).
Types and Denominations should be created in English. Then you can add a translations of them in the Translator view. If there is no Translation, such as for country/language specific denominations, then make these in the original language.
Adding Types of Organisation & Denominations
Connected to Salesforce?
You will be able to see the Organisation connected to your myAlpha. You can Sync any new organisation by pressing the 'Sync Organisations from Salesforce' to make sure Salesforce and myAlpha are the same. This is done twice daily automatically.
You can also search for an Organisation, which will then open it up in your Salesforce.
Add new Types / Denominations
To add new Types / Denominations you should add them to Salesforce as an unrestricted picklist item in English, and then add a translation to them in Salesforce (for your office team to understand).
Please note: You can easily link to your SF's picklist by clicking the 'Edit fields in SalesForce' button.
Next import them into myAlpha by going to Tools -> Salesforce and clicking the Refresh Object Descriptions button, this does happen automatically once a week, but we suggest you do this too.
Then go to the Organisations -> Types / Denomination and click "Import Organisations Types/Denominations from Salesforce". This will also happen automatically once a day.
You can check the 'Salesforce Status' on the right. If it is not synched, it might not be created in Salesforce, or spelt incorrectly.
Finally you can choose which items appear to users.
Click on a item, such as "Prison" then on the next page you can choose to 'Publish' it. We suggest you publish for this for all items.

- Create a new name
- Create a new slug
- Click Add New Organisation Type / Denomination
- Make the relevant translation in Translator View.
